BEAMING BULB
What do the marketplaces actually take?
Commission, service fees, transaction fees, affiliate payouts and the flat charges most sellers forget. Malaysian rates for Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
* Platform fees only. Seller-borne costs — co-funded vouchers, shop vouchers, product discounts, bundle deals and ad spend — are not included.
⚠ All three platforms have repriced. Shopee and Lazada both raised commission on 14 August 2026: LazMall General Merchandise moved from 20–24% to 23–27%, while Shopee revised Mall and Marketplace rates, cut the SCP discount from 5% to 2–3.5%, and extended double-digit campaigns to start 3 days earlier — so 9.9 now charges the higher campaign-day service fee across 6–9 September. TikTok Shop revised Mall and Marketplace commission on 13 September 2025, with BXP sellers exempted from the increase and paying materially less. If you priced your catalogue before those dates, your margins have moved.

Full breakdown
⚠ This shows platform fees only. It does not include seller-borne discounts —
co-funded campaign vouchers, shop vouchers, product discounts, bundle deals, free-shipping top-ups
or ad spend. Those come out of your margin on top of everything above, and on Shopee they also
reduce the price base your commission is charged on. Your real net will be lower than shown.

Commission varies by sub-category, so the figures above use category midpoints. These are the official rate cards — each opens in a new tab.

Shopee — effective 14 August 2026. All 262 Shopee sub-categories are loaded for both Mall and Marketplace — choose yours under Refine sub-category for an exact rate. Leave it blank and the tool shows your category range. Rates shown exclude SST — 8% is added in the breakdown. Commission is charged on price after Seller Product Discounts and Seller Vouchers, and is on top of transaction and service fees. SCP sellers pay lower commission but also pay a Programme Service Fee of 5.5% on normal days and 7.5% on campaign days, each capped at RM100 per item, plus SST. The SCP commission discount was cut from 5% to 2–3.5% on 14 August. LiveXtra is now bundled into SCP at no extra cost and is no longer available separately. Marketplace essentials are exempt from commission, and new Marketplace sellers pay none until 120 days or 200 orders.
Campaign days (from 14 Aug 2026): double-digit campaigns run from 12:00 AM D-3 to 11:59 PM on the day (9.9 = 6–9 Sept); Mid-Month Sale (15th) and Payday Sale (25th) run D-1 to the day. That is roughly 8 days a month at the higher 7.5% service fee.
TikTok Shop — effective 13 September 2025. Rates shown are SST-inclusive and TikTok confirms commission carries no flat charges. Mall and Marketplace differ, and BXP (Bonus Extra Program) sellers were exempted from the September revision so they pay materially less. TikTok charges a separate transaction fee not modelled here — check their fee pages below.
Lazada — effective 14 August 2026. LazMall commission, all-inclusive of Campaign Voucher, Basic LazCoins and Free Shipping, subject to 8% SST. Non-Mall sellers should use Custom rate.
All figures are estimates and cover platform fees only. Seller-borne costs — co-funded vouchers, shop vouchers, product discounts, bundle deals and ad spend — are excluded and will reduce your net further. On Shopee, commission is charged on the price after seller discounts and vouchers, so heavy discounting changes both your revenue and your fee base. Always reconcile against your settlement statement in Seller Centre.
